When Do I Receive My DVC Deed?

Last edited on July 14, 2025

After your Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resale contract closes, the final step is the recording of the deed. Buyers typically receive a copy of the recorded deed within 5 business days after closing. This document is sent via email by the title company and serves as your official proof of ownership. Once recorded, it is used by Disney to activate your DVC membership.

The deed will reflect the exact ownership structure established during the closing process. Whether the membership is titled under your name, jointly with another person, or in the name of a trust, the recorded deed will mirror that titling. Because this becomes your legal ownership document, we strongly recommend that you review the draft version of the deed carefully before signing. Any corrections must be made prior to recording.

Sellers do not automatically receive a copy of the recorded deed unless they request one. Once the sale is finalized, the deed is recorded, and funds are disbursed, the seller’s involvement in the transaction is considered complete. However, a copy can be provided upon request at any time.

The title company maintains a permanent copy of the recorded deed and DVC Sales can assist if you ever need a duplicate emailed to you again. Whether it’s for recordkeeping, tax purposes, or personal peace of mind, retrieving your deed later is simple.

If you’re unsure when your deed was recorded, or if you can’t find your emailed copy, just reach out to us. Our team is happy to help confirm the recording date or provide another copy.

Your recorded deed is more than just paperwork — it’s the final proof that your DVC membership is officially yours.
