When Will Disney Activate My DVC Membership?

When Will Disney Activate My DVC Membership? That’s a common question, especially for new buyers eager to start using their points. In most cases, Disney activates the membership about 7 to 10 business days after the deed has been recorded and submitted to them by the title company.

Once activated, you’ll receive a welcome email from Disney. If you're an existing DVC member, they’ll also attempt to link the new contract to your current Member ID automatically:

  • If the Use Year and titling match, the new contract will be added to your existing Member ID.

  • If either the Use Year or titling is different (for example, if the new contract is in a trust), Disney may assign a second Member ID.
In either case, you’ll see all of your contracts when you log into the DVC Member Portal, and you can toggle between them as needed.

This process is handled entirely by Disney — you don’t need to send them anything. After closing, the title company submits the recorded deed directly to Disney’s Member Administration department.

If more than 10 business days have passed and you haven’t received an activation email, you can call Disney Member Services at (800) 800-9800 to check the status. If there’s a delay, we’re happy to help confirm that all closing documents were submitted properly. If more than 10 business days have passed and you haven’t received an activation email, you can call Disney Member Services at (800) 800-9800 to check the status. In the meantime, here is a link to visit Disney’s Member Services portal.

Whether this is your first contract or you're adding on, activation is the final step before you can book vacations, bank or borrow points, and take full advantage of DVC membership.
