DVC Resale Grand Californian

The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa remain one of the most sought-after Disney Vacation Club properties on the resale market. Located inside the luxurious Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, this resort was the first-ever DVC property on the West Coast, opening in 2009. While it's no longer the only DVC property at Disneyland—thanks to the addition of the new Villas at Disneyland Hotel in 2023—Grand Californian remains the flagship for location, theming, and exclusivity.

With only around 50 total villas—equivalent to approximately 48 two-bedroom units when split among all room types—Grand Californian is the smallest DVC resort in the network. That scarcity drives up both resale demand and booking competition, making ownership here a strategic move for members who prioritize Disneyland vacations. The contract end date of 2060 may be shorter than other resorts, but resale listings often maintain strong pricing due to the extremely limited supply.

One of the biggest perks of owning here is the exclusive entrance directly into Disney California Adventure Park. Members can bypass the main entrance and walk from their villa to the heart of the park in just minutes. The resort is also just steps from Downtown Disney and a short walk to Disneyland Park, making it the most centrally located DVC property available.

Inside, the villas reflect the same Arts and Crafts-style architecture and rich design details as the main hotel. Hardwood floors, stone accents, handcrafted furniture, and warm lighting create a cozy but upscale atmosphere. Units include Deluxe Studios, One-Bedroom Villas, Two-Bedroom Villas, and Three-Bedroom Grand Villas, all equipped with DVC-standard amenities like kitchenettes or full kitchens, laundry facilities, and private balconies.

The pool areas include a large main pool with a waterslide, a relaxing quiet pool, and a separate children’s splash area. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s fitness center and Tenaya Stone Spa, offering massage and wellness services in a serene setting.

Dining is another standout feature. Napa Rose, the resort’s signature restaurant, is one of the best fine dining experiences at any Disney hotel, with an award-winning wine list and upscale California cuisine. Storytellers Café offers buffet dining and character breakfasts, while the GCH Craftsman Grill serves up hearty meals and snacks throughout the day.

What sets Grand Californian apart in the resale market is its prime location, elegant design, and limited inventory. Unlike other larger DVC resorts with hundreds of units, this resort’s small footprint means listings are rare and buyers often act quickly. Having 11-month booking priority is essential if you hope to stay here during holidays, spring break, or summer travel.

While some buyers may now compare it with the new Disneyland Hotel Villas, the two offer very different experiences. Grand Californian leans into a rustic luxury theme, offers closer park access, and delivers a quieter, more secluded feel. The Disneyland Hotel is bright, modern, and nostalgic—but Grand Californian has the edge in resale value and exclusivity.

For West Coast families or any DVC member who loves the walkable charm of Disneyland, owning a resale contract at the Grand Californian is a practical and rewarding investment. Its combination of limited supply, exceptional location, and elegant design keeps this resort at the top of the resale value chart year after year.
