Disney ROFR Decision — How Am I Notified?

Last edited on July 14, 2025

Waiting on a Disney ROFR decision and wondering how you'll be notified? You're not alone — it's one of the most anticipated updates in the DVC resale process. Disney typically takes 20 to 30 days to review a contract and decide whether to exercise their Right of First Refusal (ROFR).

As soon as we receive Disney’s decision, we notify all parties immediately. Both the buyer and seller will receive an update by email — usually within minutes or hours of our receiving the official response. We also notify the title company, so they can either proceed with closing or release the deposit if needed.

If Disney waives ROFR, everything moves forward as planned. The title company begins preparing final documents, and the buyer and seller continue toward closing with no disruption.

If Disney exercises ROFR, they become the buyer, replacing the original purchaser under the same price and terms. The buyer’s deposit is fully refunded, and the seller still receives the agreed-upon payment — just from Disney instead of the original buyer.

We understand how important timing is at this stage, and that’s why our team tracks the ROFR window closely. The moment we receive an update from Disney, we act fast to communicate the outcome to everyone involved. You’ll never be left guessing.

If you have travel plans, deadlines, or just want extra peace of mind during the ROFR waiting period, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to provide a status update or walk you through what happens next.
