Yes, it is possible to offer less on DVC resale. Submitting an offer below the asking price is allowed and often successful. In fact, many DVC contracts are sold this way. While some sellers are firm on price, others are open to negotiation, especially if the listing has been on the market for a while or you’re ready to move quickly.
Each seller has the ability to enable or disable the negotiation option on their listing. If negotiation is disabled, your offer must match the asking price exactly to be considered. If negotiation is enabled, you’re welcome to submit a lower offer—but keep in mind this doesn’t guarantee a counteroffer or acceptance.
When you submit your offer, you’ll be asked to enter either a price per point or a total contract price. You’ll also confirm your intent to sign the contract and submit your deposit within 24 hours if the offer is accepted. Once submitted, your offer is delivered directly to the seller and remains valid for 24 hours.
Before making an offer, consider your strategy. Think through how you’ll respond if the seller counters or declines. With thousands of active buyers in the market, an attractive contract may draw attention from others at the same time.
If you’re unsure how your offer compares to others or whether it's competitive, our team can help. We can provide insight based on current market activity, contract value, and historical data.
Once your offer is accepted and both parties sign, the transaction moves to closing and is submitted to Disney for Right of First Refusal (ROFR)—a key step before the contract becomes official.
Negotiating is part of the process, and we’re here to help you every step of the way.
