DVC Resale - How to rescind an offer?

Last edited on July 14, 2025

If you’ve submitted a DVC resale offer and are having second thoughts, you might be wondering: how do I rescind an offer? Fortunately, the process is simple and designed to give buyers flexibility.

You can cancel your offer anytime before both parties have signed the purchase agreement. Offers are valid for 24 hours, and if the seller hasn’t responded yet, you can cancel instantly by logging into your DVC Sales profile, viewing the offer, and clicking the Remove Offer button. No need to contact our team — the system takes care of it automatically.

Even after a seller accepts your offer, you still have a chance to back out — as long as the contract remains unsigned by both sides. The moment both signatures are completed, however, the contract becomes legally binding.

That said, Florida law protects you with a 10-day rescission period even after the agreement is fully executed. This means you can cancel the deal for any reason within 10 days of receiving the signed contract, and receive a full refund of your deposit.

While the system is built to support reasonable cancellations, repeatedly submitting offers and backing out may lead to account restrictions. We encourage buyers to be thoughtful when placing offers and to ask questions in advance if they’re unsure about a particular listing.

Need help evaluating a contract before you commit? Our team is happy to assist so you can move forward with confidence — and avoid unnecessary cancellations.
